Does your cooking set the world on fire – or just your kitchen? 🧯 Are you a Masterchef or more of a beans on toast kind of person? 🍜 It’s time to show us what you and your housemates have got in the kitchen in our Win a Dinner competition!

Cooking at home rather than ordering takeaways or eating out every day is a great way to make sure you don’t spend too much money while you study. There’s nothing wrong with a meal out every now and again – but getting into a habit of doing it too often can put your budget under unnecessary stress! (See our Student Lifestyle pathway to learn more about this.)

That’s why for our Win a Dinner competition, we’d like to invite you to team up with your housemates, get creative and whip up the best home-cooked meal we’ve ever seen! 🥘

How to take part

To enter our competition, all you have to do is:

  1. Post a picture on Twitter or Instagram of a two-course meal you’ve put together with your housemates, or alone if you’d prefer – making it look as good as possible! Extra points will be awarded for the best value and most nutritious meals
  2. Tag us in the photo (here are our Twitter and Instagram pages)
  3. Include the hashtag #BBWinaDinner in your post!

To reward your heroic efforts (and the decision not to order a Dominos 🍕), in each of the two weeks of the competition, we’ll be choosing the best entry, who will receive up to 4 x £25 restaurant vouchers (or the equivalent in charity donations, if they would prefer).

The competition will run from 9am on the 4th October 2021 until 4pm on the 15th October 2021 (excluding weekends). It is open to all students at our partner universities and colleges in the UK, Australia and New Zealand who have created a Blackbullion account.
