Stay Away from Plastic

Cold, shiny, hard plastic

Plastics are bad for your health and bad for the earth: they don’t degrade, so they just end up in landfills, in our waters damaging marine life, or even in our bodies. A study from the University of Victoria in Canada found that each of us consume between 70,000 and 121,000 particles of microplastics per year, just from tiny bits of plastic that make their way into our environment.

Single use plastics are the worst of the lot. Refuse plastic straws, don’t use disposable plates and cutlery when you’re out, and avoid buying plastic wrapped fruits and vegetables. If you need to use a straw, there are plenty of reusable options you can now purchase for cheap.
